The Artist Behind the Lens
Nearly everyone walks in nervous, and that's okay. Some worry they won't know how to pose. Some haven't felt comfortable in front of a camera in years. Some are simply carrying a lot of opinions about their own body. I've seen all of it, and none of it is a problem.
I'm Jelle, and for years I've built my sessions around one idea: you shouldn't have to worry about how you look. That worry is exactly what gets in the way of an honest photograph. So my first job isn't to direct you or perfect your angles. It's to make the space feel safe enough that you can stop performing.
Once that happens, something shifts. The tension in your shoulders eases. You stop checking yourself and start settling into the moment. And in that stillness, you get to see how you actually look, not the version you've been bracing against, but the real one. That's a very different thing, and it's the reason women often tell me they hardly recognize themselves in the best way.
Nobody has to be a natural in front of a camera to get there. You only have to be willing to show up. I'll take care of the rest.

Every session at Silhouette & Soul begins with a simple requirement: bring someone you trust. A partner, a friend, a sister. Whoever makes you feel safest. They're there with you from the start, because this kind of work deserves a witness you've chosen yourself.
Before we begin, we talk through everything. Wardrobe, comfort levels, what you're hoping to walk away with. You're in control at every moment. Want to pause, adjust, or skip something? Say the word. No explanation needed.
I've designed every part of this experience — the lighting, the pacing, the reveal — so that you feel held, not exposed. The goal is always the same: that you leave feeling more like yourself than when you arrived.
